When you use AapnaHome, we collect the following types of information: • Account Information - Name, email address, phone number, and profile photo when you register. • Property Listings - Details you submit when posting a property, including address, rent, photos, and description. • Usage Data - Pages visited, search queries, inquiry activity, and device/browser information. • Communications - Messages exchanged between tenants and owners through our messaging system. • Feedback & Support - Content you submit via feedback forms or support tickets.
We use collected information to: • Create and manage your account • Display your listings to potential tenants • Facilitate inquiries and messaging between users • Send notifications about inquiry status, new messages, and platform updates • Detect and prevent fraudulent or abusive activity • Improve our platform through analytics • Respond to support requests
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. Your information is shared only in the following circumstances: • Between Users - Your name and listing details are visible to other users. Phone number visibility is controlled by your privacy settings. • Email - Your email is masked from non-admin users to prevent harvesting. • Legal Requirements - We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users. • Service Providers - We may use third-party tools (e.g. analytics, hosting) that process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality agreements.
Your phone number is protected by our privacy controls. You can choose from three settings in your Profile: • Everyone - Any logged-in user can see your number. • Accepted Only - Your number is visible only after an inquiry has been accepted (default). • Nobody - Your phone number is never displayed to other users.
AapnaHome uses browser localStorage to remember your theme preference (dark/light mode) and session data. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. Standard session cookies are used to keep you logged in.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal information (name, email, phone, messages) is permanently removed from our servers within 30 days. Property listings may be anonymised and retained for analytics purposes.
You have the right to: • Access and update your personal information via your Profile page • Control your phone number visibility via Privacy settings • Delete your account and all associated data via Settings → Delete Account • Request a copy of your data by contacting our support team
We take security seriously. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text. All forms use CSRF protection. Sensitive pages require authentication. However, no system is 100% secure - please use a strong, unique password and keep your credentials confidential.
AapnaHome is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that a child has registered, we will delete their account promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Significant changes will be communicated via a notice on the platform. Your continued use of AapnaHome after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
